Crate Entertainment Acquires Black Legion Property from Iron Lore
August 19, 2008
Crate Entertainment is pleased to announce the acquisition of another original property from Iron Lore Entertainment. This property, with the working title: Black Legion, was being developed and pitched to publishers in late 2007 as Iron Lore's next big RPG title. The Crate team was leading the creation of this new property before Iron Lore closed.
"Abandoning this project, that we had put so much work and passion into creating, was one of the most difficult aspects of Iron Lore closing. Black Legion had already generated significant interest with publishers when Iron Lore ran out of operational funds and was forced to close its doors." said Arthur Bruno, founder of Crate Entertainment. "I'm grateful that we have this second opportunity to bring the game to market; this is really the type of game that I joined the industry to make."
Crate plans to pick up where Iron Lore left off by continuing development and securing a publishing deal for Black Legion.

Crate Entertainment Founded by Former Members of Iron Lore
February 18, 2008
Crate Entertainment founded by ex-Iron Lore employees to continue work on an original I.P. game that was being developed by Iron Lore when the studio closed earlier this year.
The company intends to use their expertise in original I.P. to create games with immersive atmosphere, deep gameplay, and top-notch production values. To this end, the company has acquired one of the promising original properties that was in the conceptual stages of development at Iron Lore prior to the studio's closing. This is an entirely new property and not part of the Titan Quest franchise, which is owned by THQ.
The studio is headed by Arthur Bruno and Eric Campanella.
Arthur Bruno most recently served at Iron Lore Entertainment as Lead Designer developing intellectual properties for the studio. Arthur joined Iron Lore in 2001 and was responsible for designing and balancing all of the core gameplay systems in Titan Quest. Prior to Iron Lore, Arthur performed contract work for Ensemble Studios after being recognized as one of the top players in Age of Empires and from there went on to Stainless Steel Studios where he designed some of the core systems on Empire Earth.
Eric Campanella has worked as an artist in the game industry for over twelve years and has had experience serving as concept artist, modeler, animator, and manager at many top-tier studios including EA and Activision. Prior to his most recent role as Art Director at Iron Lore, Eric worked on many notable titles including: Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale 2, Command and Conquer: Generals, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2, the Call of Duty series, and James Bond: Quantum of Solace.
